Statement of Faith

We believe there is one God, sovereign creator of all things visible and invisible, who exists eternally in three persons:  Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  We believe in Jesus Christ our Lord, God’s only Son, begotten, not made.  He was born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit; he died for our sins and was raised from the dead for our justification; he ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father; he will return personally and visibly to judge the living and the dead and to consummate his kingdom.  We believe that God created humans in his image, but that since the fall we are all sinful in our entire nature and deserving of condemnation;  we are redeemed only through the sufficient and completed atoning work of Christ on the cross, without any merit of our own.  We believe that the Holy Spirit lives in and transforms all those he has regenerated.  We believe that the Bible, as originally given, is the inspired and infallible Word of God, and the supreme authority in all matters of belief and behaviour.
